A few months ago I placed an order on Geekandgorgeous. In the basket, I had as usual the serum with Niacinamide, Vitamin C, and A-Game 10 retinal, products that I have had in my skincare routine for some time. A new serum caught my eye: Stress Less. I had already read about it, and I just had to try it.
The packaging is cute, minimalist, and girly, like all Geekandgorgeous products.
They claim that Stress Less serum is designed to help sensitive, damaged, irritated, or dehydrated skin. The combination of Beta-Glucan and Madecassoside, two supermolecules with remarkable abilities to soothe, repair, and moisturize the skin, is the star of this serum.
Ingredients in Stress Less Geek & Gorgeous
One of the main biologically active components of the medicinal plant is Centella Asiatica, also known as Gotu Kola or Cica. It has wound healing, calming, and antioxidant properties.
A supermolecule from oats, which has intense skin repair properties, being at the same time an excellent soothing and moisturizing, which even has some anti-aging effects. It is a large molecule of polysaccharide (sugar), somewhat similar in structure to hyaluronic acid, thus showing skin moisturizing properties. The larger fractions of beta-glucan stay on the top of the skin to moisturize and smooth. The smaller fractions penetrate deep (even into the dermis), proving anti-aging effects.
It is a molecule of carbohydrates identical to the skin, which binds to your skin like a magnet and keeps the skin hydrated longer than most other moisturizers.
The complete list of ingredients is Aqua (Water), Methyl glucose-20, Saccharide isomerate, Glycerin, Madecasoside, Beta-Glucan, 1,2-Hexanediol, Citric acid, Sodium citrate, Caprylyl Glycol, Carbomer, Sodium hydroxide, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol.
I also checked the list of ingredients on incidecoder.com. Stress Less is a simple product, with a clean formula, without irritants, perfume, and alcohol.
How to use Stress Less Geek & Gorgeous
Stress Less has a light, transparent, fragrance-free gel texture. Geekandgorgeous recommends it to almost everyone, especially if:
- the skin is prone to dehydration, tenderness, redness and irritation;
- you use strong active ingredients (anti-acne products, anti-aging, benzoyl peroxide, or tretinoin) that have the potential to compromise the skin barrier.
Apply a few drops to the face after cleansing before using creams. It can be used either in the AM and/or PM.
Shelf life: 2 years from production (unopened), 6 months PAO (period after opening)
Winning combos with Stress Less Geek & Gorgeous Serum
Due to its star ingredients, Stress Less, combined with other skincare products, can play a crucial role in solving issues.
For anti-aging effects, use Stress Less in combination with C-Glow, the vitamin C serum from Geek & Gorgeous.
It is recommended to use Stress Less serum with Liquid Hydration to soothe the skin.
If you use strong actives (retinol, tretinoin, acids) for extra hydration, I recommend using them in combination with Stress Less.
When you use potent actives, the skin barrier can be compromised. Therefore, to protect the skin, use Stress Less and B-Bomb (niacinamide) serum in the same regimen.
Skincare regimens with Stress Less
If you are a beginner in the skincare area, it may feel overwhelming to handle so many products. You can read more about my experience.
You need to start with small steps. The more you read, the more you will understand how the main ingredients in skincare products work, and you will be able to create a simple routine that will help you achieve your goals.
Here are some regimen examples with Geek & Gorgeous products, where the Stress Less serum is also present. These routines work without this serum, but extra hydration never hurts.
AM regimen with Stress Less
The morning routine starts with cleansing the skin with Jelly Joker or any other gentle cleanser that you already have. Dry your face. Apply half a pipette of C-Glow (vitamin C). Follow in a few minutes with Liquid Hydration, Stress Less, moisturizer, and SPF.
If you are on the run in the morning, the routine can be simplified: wash your face with water, dry well, then apply after a few minutes C-Glow, Stress Less, and SPF. Altruist Face Fluid SPF is so hydrating that I no longer feel the need for a moisturizing cream. The SPF will be reapplied throughout the day, regardless of the season.
PM regimen with Stress Less
The evening routine is the one that contains stronger active substances than the one in the morning. We can use retinol, exfoliants, on different evenings.
Above I exemplified two types of the evening routine. Because I focus on the anti-aging side, I use the regimen with retinol 5-6 times per week, and the one with exfoliant 1-2 times per week, depending on how my skin reacts and needs.
Evening regimen #1
The first step of any evening routine is cleansing, even if you do not wear make-up. An oil-based make-up remover will help you clean your make-up, SPF, and any other dirt that has settled on your skin during the day.
Next is the moisturizing part: toner, Stress Less, and the moisturizer of your choice.
Evening regimen #2
You also start with the first step: double-cleansing.
Liquid Hydration toner follows, then apply the Stress Less serum in a few minutes. Continue with retinol, leave it on for 10-15 minutes and end the evening routine with a moisturizer.
PRECAUTIONS For each new product introduced in the skin-care regimen, you must test it for a minimum of 2 weeks. It is how you will notice how your skin adapts. You will not begin using all the products at the same time but a few weeks apart.
I’ll advise you again, just like an annoying mother with the application and reapplication of SPF. Exfoliants sensitize the skin to the action of the sun, so if you do not apply and reapply SPF during the day, regardless of the weather and season, of whether or not you leave the house, you will do more harm than good to your skin.

Opinions about the effectiveness and necessity of such a product in the skincare routine are divided. Some say we don’t need Stress Less because we can find the same hydrating ingredients in moisturizers.
Although I understand their point of view, I decided to listen to my skin. And so should you because the skincare routine is a personal thing, a product that works for me may not work for you. And vice versa.
My skin agrees with the extra hydrating layer offered by Stress Less, especially in the cold season when my skin goes dry. So YES, I will repurchase Stress Less and use it daily for extra hydration.
